The research was authored by Professor Zhou Yushu, President of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences, and his research team. The study examined 401 relatively intact seals unearthed at Harappa and Mohenjo-daro and proposed interpretations for 132 individual characters. The research compares these symbols with inscriptions, imagery and cultural traditions associated with prehistoric China, particularly the Hongshan Cultural Sphere. It explores potential links between the ancient civilizations that once occupied the regions of present-day Pakistan and China.
